When I first moved to California, over nine years ago, I brought my three vehicles; Chevy Blazer, Ford Mustang, and my Harley Davidson. Growing up in New England, the Boston area, one really had to be prepared for the elements, so I had four-wheel drive with the Blazer, convertible/muscle car with the Mustang, and well, what can I write that hasn't already been evoked by the words ‘Harley Davidson.'

My brothers, who both moved to California many years before each had one vehicle: BMW. I remember when I came out for a visit a few years before moving here and was shocked that they didn't have at least two. What about the elements, I'd asked. What elements, they scoffed back.

Back East I'd been working in an automotive repair shop that dealt with domestic vehicles and, with the exception of seeing BMW's on the road, I'd never gotten the chance to get under the hood or even drive one. So, when I came out for that visit I test drove both and well, can one fall in love with a vehicle? It handled smoothly, with great acceleration and they were both tightly manufactured.

But, these would never do in the snow back East.

After I drove my older brother's BMW 300 Series, I asked him if there were any good BMW repair San Diego centers, and he responded that "Beamers" rarely need repairs because they are serviced every three months. He had the records to show. Being a quick study, I raised an eyebrow and then asked if there were any good BMW service San Diego centers in the area.

Needless to say about two years after I arrived in California, I sadly sold two of my vehicles; the Blazer and the Mustang and purchased one of my brother's BMW's. Of course I kept the Harley because, well because it's a Harley and you don't sell a Harley. You maintain it and pass it on to family or friends. Anyhow, when I purchased the pre-owned BMW my brother handed me a folder with the service records, and just like he said, every three months he had this little baby serviced at a great BMW repair San Diego center.
